Which one is better in your opinion and why?? Pros and Cons of both....
Also, if you have either rear sway bar please tell me your best 60' times and also how your TR rides on the street....
TIA:cool:

I just put my ATR sway bar on this morning from the group purchase. I can already tell a big difference on the way it corners, even on slow turns. My car doesn't feel like it's gonna roll over on normal turns. IE. I had to tilt my body on turns before the addition. I HIGHLY recommend it. I will know if it 60's better when I go to the track on the 19th of this month. I think my biggest 60' improvement was heavy duty Napa rear springs for a Buick with the towing package and shocks to go with it. It had the factory stuff before. 132K  Went from 1.7x 60' to 1.59 60' w/no other change. :D

It really depends what u wanna do with the car. Anything that closely resembles regularly driven car will be better off with the ATR bar.It flat out works. U may or maynot run into minor problems installing it depending on the LCAs.

The Wolfe is a race unit. Its all business, solid and at times noisy on the street. But it works awesome. It has to be profesionaly installed which add to the total cash out.

I have the ATR in my car with mid 1.4s 60 fts and im positive that i can do even better with this set up.I have plans to go with the Wolfe in the future when the funds allow.

Thanks for the informative reply Louie!

I was just on Cal's website www.hartlineperformance.com and saw that he has an ATR bar on his Stage II GN and I'm sure his best 60' times are somewhere in the mid to low 1.3 range (maybe even high 1.2s) so it seems like for the money the ATR bar is better cause it is about $200 compared to the $400 you will spend for the Wolfe single sway bar or $650 for the double sway bar (uninstalled).... I guess I will be spending my money on the ATR bar cause my GN is mostly street driven and it's not fast enough at this point to spend that kind of $$$ on a Wolfe bar....

BTW, for anybody that would like to see the single and double Wolfe rear sway bars here is a link to their website.... www.wolferacecraft.com
They have some really fast Mustangs with their suspension parts like Job Spetter Jr's NMRA SSO turbo Stang that has run 7.77 @186mph on a true 28x10.5" tall tires!

Cal used to have an ATR swaybar, SSM bars and stock boxed uppers. The ATR bar took him a long ways.I drove the car with this set up when it was a mid 9 sec car. I went 9.80s on my 1st pass in it and it felt nice safe and straight.

But as his car got faster and faster it was driving it self down track. This is why he moved to the single wolfe with their control arms and upper diff bushings.I believe his best 60ft with this set up is 1.342 60ft

The car is become more predictible and although very cool, it doesnt pop those big ol' wheelies like it used to.Those do become expensive after a while.;)

Nevertheless the ATR bar is the one for u and 90% of us out here.

I looked at the wolf style bar and went to 2 chassie shops in the Houstonarea. They both told me to go with the big sway bar.

I was not sure I wanted to do this so one of the chassie shops offered that I buy the big sway bar and try it and if I did not like it they would buy it back from me and install what ever I wanted.

I bought the ATR sway bar and the car launches stright and even.
the car will do 1.33 60' times on 13# of boost for a launch and have been very happy with it

For those running the ATR bar, are you able to remove the air bags in the springs or are you still running them? I know with the Wolfe style bar you can remove the bags, as they're no longer necessary. THANKS !

I have adjustable upper control arms that I set my preload and pinion angle. The air bags are there but have not been used in over a year. I leave them there for a possible adjustments for track conditions.

The lower control arms are the metco stock replacements

Good Luck

With big enough tires, a stock suspension can handle 1.4 60ft. I was doing 1.5's w/ soft launches and just 1 air bag, bone stock everything else.

The main difference between the two bars is the wolfe system is much more of a race only set up. It is deffinatey far superior to a ATR bar. A wolfe bar has arms that come down and are welded to the rear as well as being welded to the body on both sides. The wolfe bar is also adjustable. If the body comes down, all it can do is push down on the rear. The wolfe bar really shines though, when you launch the car, it will come up alot more evenly. It helps prevent body twisting, and gives you straighter launches at the track.

I would recommend going with the ATR unless you plan on lifting the front tires alot during launches. Because the wolf bar is welded to the rear, you will feel every bump in the rear.

If you are still considering the wolfe bar, i would reccomend calling Jack Cotton. After he almost hit the wall at the Nationals last year, he switched to a wolfe sway bar only (metco uppers and lowers) and he said the car then launched straight as an arrow.

Hope this helps a little....

I would have to disgaree with some of you. I have had the ATR swaybar and now I have the wolfe bar. I drive my car at least 200 miles a week. The car drives SMMOOTTHH, not hard at all. VERY quiet, no nosie from the setup, car feels alot more tighter. Matter of fact the ATR sway bar gave aharder ride then the wolfe does. I was worried but man I am happy.I have seen installtion charges from $125 to $450. Some people are on crack. I was with the guy who installed it on my car, it took 2 hours. 2 hours of labor for $450?? The guy chraged me $125 and is a certified welder, had also installed several of them. I am very happy with it. the car is tight, quiet and no noise at ALL when going over harsh things like railroad tracks.
have fun,
Ralph

I am also planning to work on suspension. I looked at the ATR sway bar and the Wolfe roll bar. I can't make up my mind yet. I will be using SSM lower control arms with stock boxed uppers. I do have both air bags in car at the moment. I don't mind if they stay in the car or come out of car. I just want my car to launch good. I want short times in the 1.4's.
