To sell my GN to get the $$$$$ to buy this?? What would my 27K 87 GN be worth anyway?? Lots of mods.

The 55 Chevy belongs to a friend who is in bad health. Asking 30K or best offer. REALLY nice car but obviously not a fast car like the GN. 383 stroker with a 700R4 trans.

Could always do a TR drivetrain transplant I suppose.

Saw the 55 at a cruise last nite and just can't get it out of my head.

Sir, with all due respect- you'd miss the GN. Do not do it. Of course you may feel free to purchase it (and keep the GN)-however like previously stated, it's your prerogative.
Do what makes you happy.




I've had an '85 GN and an '87 T-type. I regret selling them both times, third times a charm for me I hope. Hindsight being beautiful at 20/20.

I'd do it in a New York minute. I LOVE those Chevs....lol. I had one in 1966, I had it painted Fire Engine Red and shortly after blew up the transplanted 283 engine. That thing was soooo fast for the time, and sounded soooo cool. Sold it for next to nothing, $100. (Hey, there were lots of them around at the time.)

The old shoebox Chebbys look pretty cool when done right, but personally I could never get rid of my Buick for one.. Plus as others have said, every other hot rodder has one or has had one so it kinda takes away from the being different IMO..

Here are a few more pics. This car was a frame off, has a stroker 383 and yes, I would change the wheels and get rid of the cheesy floor mats.

Would also pull the motor to paint it and get rid of the valve covers and air cleaner. Would seriously think about doing a Turbo 6 conversion if someone out there has already done one. :smile:

The only "crazy" thing you could do is listen to other people instead of doing what you want. Obviously you're at the wrong forum to have someone tell you "sure, get rid of that Buick crap!", hardly anyone here will tell you to do it, but if that's what you want then you should do it.

Too modified interior-wise. It would be cool to be fast with a stock interior. Wheels and lack of two-tone paint are also a turnoff for me. Then again, what the heck do I know about your likes?

X2 for the interior. I would have kept it stock. I also wouldn't trade a low mileage GN for it. Just my O2.
