Would you donate/pay to keep this site alive?

For the record;
Neither Shane or anyone else has put me up to this. :smile:
Never met or talked to Shane G.

Lets face the facts; If you own a TB, sooner or later you will need help with something.
The price you pay to play will be MUCH less than the school of hard knocks.

Just thought about this and wanted to know what everyone thinks.
No BS voting please, to give an accurate number/review.

So, that being said, would you pay/donate for access to help keep this site alive? If so, how?

If this site were going away due to finances, or something like that, heck yeah I'd chip in. It'd be a sad day if it went away; I learned a ton here, met some great folks.

If it was needed, I would guess paypal to a central account would be simplest.

u should probably add a lifetime membership option to ur poll. its obviously not NEEDED to keep the site running but it could certainly improve the sites function and maybe even a better server if members donated. give people a big gold star or something gay like that

I would have no problem throwing a few bucks a year at this site if it needed it to stay up. Some other car sites guilt trip you into donating every freakin' month. If you don't, everyone who has donated treats you like a leper. That's what I don't want.

I pay $20/yr for membership on my Maverick board. It's optional but being a paying member gets you more storage space, PM's, etc.

I love this site and it's become my second home. I'd hate to see it go away but with the current ecconomy I'd understand if Shane decided to offer paid admission. This has been discussed several times but nothing has been done so far. I try to contribute as much as I can on the tech end as well as being a moderator.

But the only non Buick owning hack on the board right now is Ty.:biggrin:

I don't think turning ads off would be needed. It's usually Buick or car related stuff, and it never really gets in my way or annoys me anyway. Right now it's an Australian car insurance add. InsureMyRide.com.au I should probably look into that anyway....

I am probably incorrect, but I don’t think Shane would EVER ask for a donation, period. Too proud of a Southern Gentleman.

thats because it makes those that would not be willing to donate feel better by taking no action at all
