Entertaining a bullet proof short block build by a reputable builder. Not interested in one built by someone who is not a household name in the TR world. Hydraulic roller is a must. If anyones got a fresh one that they are thinking of parting with let me know what you have. Thanx.

109 or even an S1 or S2 will be entertained.

Not girdled but RPE built billet cap balanced 212/212 new comp roller, arp mains, new diamond .020" pistons,.010"/.010" stock crank, arp bolts on rods, rjc new deep oil pan with buil sheet-$5000. firm-i have $6400. into this motor.im building a stg2 is only reason for sale or it would be in my gn right now.Matt 347 680 8642. also new front cover with ss bolts and new water pump, oil pump was reworked by Bobbie.

Sounds tempting but really looking for a girdled block to run more power reliably.

Call that guy Dan I think his name is at DLS Engine Development.:D You will forget all about the girdle. Lets just say he isnt a fan.

Brett, if you are not in a time crunch on a new motor I would call Bobby at RPE, he is in Hartford (860) 953-1342 and see how long it would take for a build. He built my stroker and is a great guy to deal with.

Yea Bobby is the man and (45) minutes from me but I don't want to wait (6-8) months for a build. Thanx tho.

Oh yea. Why is that?

Dan STRONGLY feels the girdle is not needed when running good quality steel internals with all 4 steel mains. Bottom line he is against them and all his motors/records, exc. pretty much speak for themselves.

I know Weber builds them with the girdle and NO steel mains. I guess its a matter of preferance and your builder. I have heard from many builders that steel mains AND the girdle is to much. Believe it or not they actually want them to "flex/give" and being to ridgid casues more block breakage.

Any "quality proven" builder it seems is always 6-8 months out.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I'm sure there are several schools of thought on what is more benificial and im sure there are those who run it with and without a girdle who have gone very fast. I would interested in what others have to say on this subject.

Tony Gomes just went 7.95 with an RPE motor and Dave Fiscus is right behind him...
Not to take anything away from DLS but Bobby knows how to build a motor.

I know Dan doesn't believe in them.. His stuff def does fly!!!! Personally i like a girdled motor.. Melissa's motor and the 9.9 motor both have girdles with stock caps.. The Mazda one prob has 15k miles an has been beat to death and now "resting" on an engine stand till the Mazda is running with a "junk" motor  Her new motor has to have at least 4k on it by now . Car is driven all over the place:cool:

Brett, check your PM. I just got a response back from Bobby for you.

No Girdles being used by those 2 guys:eek:

I mean Stage II blocks or TA blocks dont need girdles:rolleyes:

Both build top notch motors but an S2/TA to a 109 w/ or w/out a girdle is apples to oranges. Im looking for someone with a motor, not a debate. Anyone else?

I have a COMPLETE 109 stroker for sale. 3.550 stroke forged crank, 6.125 forged rods, 3.830 Ross forged pistons. Block had ARP studs and steel caps (no girdle) BMS neutral balanced hub and SFI flywheel. Hydraulic custom grind roller, comp lifters and push rods. Comp double roller chain and high volume front cover. Champion CNC iron heads with ARP bolts and CNC intake, m&a valve covers. Ready to go, never fired. 7600.00 no core or offer, I can ship and take visa and mastercard..
