Ok, so i was picking up a buddy from work last night, at the truck salvage yard he works out, when i notice the cab from some beat up old POS work truck sittin there. Its one of the full-size ones, think dump truck, or flatbed, etc. Well, the reason i notice it, is because i notice the headlights buckets look just like the ones on my GN... down to the blackout trim and everything. I metnion it to my buddy, who tells me to just take em if i want. So i do, and when we get out into the aprking lot, i do a side by side comparison, and i swear, they're identical. When i got home, i swapped them out, and they fit right in. Unfortunately, the truck was too beat up, and i dont know enough about them to know what specific model or make it was (i woudl assume GMC?) But either GM used those same headlights in some old truck, or they sold them to some other truck company who did. It was from around the same time as our GN's, looked mid-80's-ish, but beyond that i dont know. So who'd a thunk old dump-trucks would be a source for parts for our cars? :)

Well, according to one of our local engineers, almost every engine part on my 85 GN along with EVERY engine part on his Fiero was designed for Airplane use. I never knew that Piper's and such were powered by the awesome Fiero 2.8 liter. :D

What kind of truck was it?

Well, as i said

"Unfortunately, the truck was too beat up, and i dont know enough about them to know what specific model or make it was"

I couldnt even guess at what kinda truck it was, all i know is that it was a big, full size commerical-type truck body, from the 80's.

if you open the drivers side door (if it has 1) & look on the pillar, where the striker is & it will tell you everythig about the truck.

If that doesn't work, take a pic and post it...someone is bound to know what it is.
