According to Chrysler you can get 6 speed tremec or 8 speed torqueflite auto..... Dash appears kinda plain to me... Like blah... The purple coolant is definately different.

The one Richard from Fast-N-Loud drove was an automatic i believe. I'd hate to miss a shift with that 6 speed manual, could be a bad day.

It is good for the big 3 doing what they are but for a poor boy like me will not get to have one just like most could not afford a Buick at the time.

What else could you buy for that amount of coin that makes that kind of power, be that comfortable, have that much modern crap in it to make a good DD and have a warranty? I can't think of a thing. It's better than "not bad". Whether you like the way it looks, like/dislike the brand, think it's too heavy or whatever, this is pretty damn kick ass.

'Merica.

707 is just an advertisement. Gets you to walk into dealership, most will end up buying the base model or something similar.

Salvage, you'd still have a 30 yr old car that will have some issue (major, minor or otherwise) within the next few days/weeks. There is simply no comparison b/w old and new. We can get all romantic about "back in the day...", but to have a new car that rips like this one will, be worry free and also have a cool old GN in the garage is where it's at. Selling the car at this price point should allow for that for a good number of folks. If I went with a C7 and especially a Z06, I knew I'd have to move my GN, but if I go with this, I'm good AND I get to carry my family along for the ride. You could do it with the Vette; however, taping kids to body panels tends to screw up the aero...

Oh, and if you think you could build 2 and a half GN's like mine for the cost of one of these new, I'll send the $60k your way and await delivery. Buy? Sure as many people give away their GN's when they sell, but you couldn't build them for that.

TurboTN, 707 is eye candy and will drive traffic no doubt, all manuf produce halo cars for that purpose. That said, I think they will sell a good many of these. Reason being is the ability to DD this car. It's not a two seater or something with an extremely small back seat. You can actually use this car. Now, would you want to carry clients around in it? Eh, guess it depends on the client and the relationship you have with them. I would have no issues doing it, they'd laugh and enjoy the ride.

John

Yeah, a well built, fully restored TR is going to have a good $40k into it if you don't do all the work yourself...and will only be worth $20-25k. In the end it will still be a POS 80's regal with poor body panel fit and leaky frameless windows.

The problem is that these will be limited production and the dealer markups will be insane. If my GN was worth north of $30k and I could get one of these for MSRP, I would consider dumping it and my WRX to have the cash for one of these.

Given your local, Arizona, you could make some sense out of moving the WRX. Makes it easier than for those in the NE who would pretty much need some type of 4X transportation during the winter months. Always appreciated what Subi did with those and really enjoyed them lightly modded.

John

I love my WRX. This is my second one. All it takes is a tune and full turbo back exhaust to get one into the high 12's. It averages 23mpg and gets the family around nice with 4 doors and a hatch back.

Hmm, now that I put it that way, I guess I wouldn't want to use a Hellcat for a DD lol. I will take my GN to the Dodge dealer and see if I can pull off a straight trade. ;)

Check out this pic of the display. They let you monitor AFR. Pretty cool to have factory widebands. I love that about my Ecoboost vehicles.

Heeeeeeeeerrrre Kitty, Kitty, Kitty..............

That is a awesome price for that car. How ever........ I would be pissed if I dropped 125k on a Viper, only to find out this car at half it's price tag would hand me my ass.

Every decently hot car has that crap out of the gate, then the "new hotness" shifts down the street and you're buying them at a discount. Tons of guys got great deals on ZR1's after the first batch hit the lots. Sure, for the guy who just has to have the newest thing, he's take the punch to the nuts and I couldn't care less. They can charge what they want for them and I'll pay only as much as I'm willing. You'll be able to find deals after the dust settles.

John
