Don't be soo sure, mid 11's aint enough! That Z06 might come right around you on the big end! They run real good!

Come around you with what? a Ricer style Flyby?

A Stock Z06 on Stock tires with a typical Z06 Driver isn't going to beat a mid 11 second T/R to the T/R's redline in Drive.

I's a given that a nearly 7000 RPM Z06 will beat that mid 11 second T/R once the T/R shifts into OD.

I would hope the T/R driver would be smart enough to tap the brakes at the top of Drive and stop racing.

I got this from one of the corvette forums for C6 Z06's

I was fairly certain. I would have put my money on it. The car was less than 15 days on the road and had stock tires on it. It would have taken a really good driver to beat me.I highly doubt he was a really good driver. It would have flustered him really bad if i exploded ahead with an immediate 3 car lead. Which i would have if we raced. I easily foot braked AJ's 3850 car to 11.70's. Wouldnt beat all new Z06's but would win most of the time based on the driver experience.

******The Current Top 17 Average Bone Stock, Stock Tires Category C6 Z06 Fast List Splits*****
This is the average of guys on that board. Most of which probably have a decent amount of driver experience. I wonder what the actual average is:tongue: .

Doesn't the 08 ZO6 imply it can only be the 427 motor with 505hp?

This car weighs about 3160 so if you see some sticky tires it ain't running 12's unless he's a newbie. Which brings me to that list of fast Vettes, what are the chances of you seeing the top 20 fastest Z06 guys on the road, not likely.

So look for tires and if they are street, then you got'em beat. :D

The Average of the top 17 cars in the world isn't even close to what Joe Z06 in your town will run.

If the top car and number 20 were within .2 seconds around 11.5, then you could say most ZO6's run 11.5's.

There is nearly a Second and 7 mph spread between #1 and #17. That's crazy. It's like they are driving different cars on different planets.

Most of the Joe Z06's I know wouldn't even come close to making the list.

I'll make it a goal to challenge a stock Z06 (no headers, stock tires) with my stockish TTA to a 1/2 mile drag race next year the Thedford Drags in Nebraska and I will post a video win or lose.

I'll bet a dollar that if I get a hole shot, the Z06 won't catch me.

I hate admitting defeat, but before one of the corvette get togethers when the C6 Z06's first came out, I ran my 385 hp 2001 C5 Z06 against a brand new unmodified C6 Z06. It was his second pass ever in the car. I ran 12.7 @ 114 spinning off the line and he ran 12.4 at 121. I can't find the timeslip but that is what I remember.

The new zo6 is an awesome car no doubt. Imagine buying a showroom stock car with leather, power everything, air conditioning, and navigation for a fraction of the cost of the supercars that it outruns in every category! Not to mention highway fuel economy of a Honda Civic! Not enough for you? How about a full comprehensive warranty? It would be great to buy a car that outruns most of everything on the road, has no quirks, and can be driven daily if needed. That is my goal in the buildup of my Buick. By the time I am done, I will have spent enough money to buy a new zo6 and a garage to park it in!

I have had many turbo regals and even a rx7 hybrid, I also have a 08 zo6, in a drag race the zo6 is not the easiest car to run, I only have six passes on the z and have not figured out the launch yet, I have been 11.89@123 with a 2.01 sixty, so in simple terms from a roll you better have a mid 10 second Buick or better.

Yep. Straightline is where the comparison ends. They are awesome pieces of machinery. I'll probably never own one, so I'd be content beating them at the stoplights and at the track.

No et yet car has a 109 short block, champion ported heads and intake, precision intercooler and a 72 mm turbo, dual nozzle alky kit, also a roller cam with td rockers.

I would think this combo should murder that $65,000+ LS7.....as long as you got you a set of them M/T drag radials.....go get that midlife crisis and teach him a lesson!!

the track is completly different than the street.if your gn is setup to spool fast and dead hook on the street you can put several cars on the zo6.and if you think that the 10sec zo6 that ranger is driving will stick the launch on the street like in the video, one has been watching to many sci-fi movies:biggrin: there are many who set their cars up for the street, always g-tecking,practicing launches, etc.

10.50 e.t at the track will not be that on the street, i know
find tuned and give me the hit and i hook i will try that vette any day

There were a couple at the local track this past Friday night. Mid-12s @ 118-120 MPH.

GNBRETT can attest to that:biggrin:He knows why i want to race that guy.

lol... I can tell you that I have been in my buddys 2003 Procharged Z06 with a built 346. He put down 660 rwhp and 540 lbs. of torque.

I can also tell you that my buddys Z06 would get smoked by Bison's street car that has a 66 GTQ. It would not even be a race. I would say that there would be 10 car lengths between them. The Z06 pulls pretty hard thru 1st into 2nd but starts to fall off rapidly IMO. And when he was at 80 mph it was pulling but waaaaay less then early on. Bison's car was pulling at 80 like it was at 30. Quite impressive. A fine example of a how a finely tuned car can make brutal and consistent HP. You would have to bring a solid high 9 second street car to give that car a run for its money.

A mildly modified TB would smoke a new, old, or any time in the near future Z06 IMO.
