Not happy with the 1/8 to 1/4 pickup. Car seemed to fall off @ 1000'.

i see nothing wrong with the 1/8 to 1/4 pick up. 23mph is not bad. whos converter?

Yeah slippage is high ~10%. With the TE60 the car would average 24.88 1/8 to 1/4. IMO -the 66 seems to have more torque and in turn more slippage. I'm not sure if that makes sence but does to me :).

Motor is fresh.

Convertor is an NC LU 2800 12" about 10 years old.

well are you locking it or leaving it unlocked? I'm surprised you're spooling a 66mm with a 12" 2800 stall. Trans Brake? IMO around 5% slippage should be managable with the newer converters but Dusty could chime in.

Not locking it. Its a turbonetics BB 66, spool like crazy! Foot brake.

That's a pretty good gain and is about all you can expect from a converter like that. A 10" converter will pick up even less.

A 10" will pick up less? With a TE60 it ave 24.88 MPH from the 1/8 to 1/4. I'm not 100% its a converter issue. What do you recommend?

Just as a comparison, I have a 66BB tnetics on my factory untouched GN. I run about 120 on 25lbs of boost. I ran 11.33@120 with a 1.63 60ft at 25lbs. I run a 5 disc vigilante locked that has pretty much 0 slip.

I'm suprised you can spool a T66 with a 12" converter. Looking at your data......good spool, less than 120 to the 1/4 but good 60's and et, I'd say your data looks like a 2800-3200 stall 10" unlocked. If your spooling a 66mm with a true 12", the converter is most likely the problem. To get a 12" to stall enough to spool a 66mm would mean it's got some awkward fin angle and should definately see the slip go up as power increases.

Once you get so much stall in these type converters, the more power you put to them, the more slip you will see unless you can turn more rpm to keep the converter coupled. The exception to this rule is the multi-disc, 9x11 and my 9.5 non lock. All of these are capable of slipping under 5% at the low rpm range.

not bad times with that # boost i ran a 11.64 with a stock unopened engine with a TE-60 on short 275/50's.... what size tires you got ?

Yeah the TE60 is a nice little turbo, it took my car 11.47 @ 119.96 @ 18 psi.

Tires: 275 50 15 = 26"

If it were me, I'ld throw some 28" tires on and see what happens.

vacuum6,that 66 pulls real good up top.i really think you should get a good converter to match the combo the boost is pretty low as well

Thanks for all the feedback.

Looking to get a new convertor.

I would have turned up the boost but the track was way loose, 40° @ 6:30 pm. Car got a bit sideways at the 2-3 shift.

What trim was the exhaust wheel? I think you already told me but i forget. You need to get a handle on your 3rd a/f ratio. Even with 10% slip you should be able to at least surpass your previous best with the 60. That turbo even with the small ex wheel will make more power than any cheap lockup or non lockup could even come close to handling. A 9.5" PTC is your best bet.
