Cheers Todd, I must have a shallow pan with the 700 filter as there was no way it was going to fit and I couldn't see an need to cut the signal pipe. I put a 3/8" section in the pan so it's all good now. Thanks.
I've just checked out what the 200c filter looks like. Can't see how that would work either? Never mind. All sorted now.

the filter is from the 200c three speed trans

did you switch to tractor fluid ??

bruce's deep pan takes a lot to get close to the full line on the stick
i ran his deep pan on my 86 (now its on the 87 ttop) holds almost 13 qts .
the short sheet metal pan holds 11 qts
with the rear sump deep pan idont overfilled it like i would on a stock pan
on a stock pan if your car spools quick or launches hard fill it to the middle of S bend on the dip stick

Yes. I replaced the ATF with ISO 46 machine oil from Tractor Supply. Switched out 8 quarts. Tranny seems to like it better.

Car 60's in 1.47-1.50 area when I do my part. Getting a jump in RPM at 2-3 shift and some knock at shift point. Knock sensor is totally quiet but PL records it. Shift is made at 86-88 MPH and PL shows convertor slip to be less than 2%. TCI convertor calculation backs that up. Read somewhere that some "shift knock" may happen with the PTC 9.5 NL convertor.
