I have always run 2-1/16" gauges, it seems like the pods are all made for them.

Well, after fighting with lousy oil pressure gauges, I'm going to try to run a fancy 2-5/8" full-sweep electric Autometer (since I have one). (plus my eyes are getting old, and its easier to see the larger gauge)

But how to mount it.........??

TR Custom Parts has a plate for over the glove box, there are supposed to be some A-pillar pods available, I have one of the Scott W pods (not sure it can be made to fit the larger gauges).

So, what other options are there? Post some pics, lets discuss it.

Thanks!

Bob

A friend of mine had a Limited with no console. It had a 2 gauge holder to mount a pair of the 2 5/8" ones under the dash . It was the old school chrome style that was just a flat stamped sheet metal piece with holes and a bent mounting flange. Not particularly sharp but did the trick. Think if you want more you'll have to custom fab a mount.

Bob you might be able to find something on ebay. Bob's your uncle..lol...wait that's my name too:cool:

Here are few options
Knowing the 2-1/16" fits into A-pillar pods, you can measure the depth of the 2-5/8" and if see it looks like it would fit then make the A-pillar pods diameter hole larger to fit the 2-5/8 gauge.
I know you already have the 2-5/8" gauge, but you can switch to a 2-1/16" digital gauge with bigger LED display.
Don't know if this would help you out, but it's a start

Bob, you will find the 2-5/8" gauges on the glove box plate is a great place for them as that is where I have them mounted on my street car.

BUT, a real PIA is the AC duct running behind that plate interferes with the back of the gauges. If you could get an angle spacer that would move them away from the duct, it would also make them more visible.

Modifying the duct for easier fitment of the gauges/wires for the 2-5/8" gauges can be done.

i will never go back to a pillar

Looks nice, just too far to see all gauges and road at the same time, unless you have a lazy eye that looks at gauges while the other eye looks at the road.

I really like Scott W. 's gauge pod. I have one and it it appears to be for 2-1/16" gauges, maybe it can be modded for the larger ones. Maybe for 2 gauges, slightly wider and shorter than the regular one, so I can put the scanmaster on top (or inside) of it.

SInce there are 2 vents in the middle there, I don't care if I have to cover one of them. (or both for that matter), or mount to the top of the radio pod.

If you have the space there, it's looks great, but I would have to move my tach/shift lite and s/m. I sold off some gauges because it's starting to like a cockpit!lol

actually with the angle pieces they are very easy to see. i think it also looks cleaner with less clutter.

scotts mid console gauge setup is really nice too

I just opened the hole on my a pillar and the big gauge fit fine I just measured the console holder looks like it would work too
