I have a 2004r I pulled from an 89 chev at pick n pull. It has been rebuilt as evidenced by the clean black painted case. When I pulled the pan to look inside it is SPOTLESS. The problem is when they drained the oil by poking a hole in the pan they broke a piece of what I beleive is the 1-2 accumulator. No problem - went back and started pulling pans and looking for a good one. Proble is the 4 cars I looked at have a different accumlutaor hsg (even antoher 89 Chev. The broken housing seems to have an extra passagege drilled in it at the top that feeds back down. Not being a tranny expert does anyone know if I can use the one without the extra bypass and any consequences? The numbers on the hdgs are for the broken one LESTER 8657753 with and '88' an 88 in a circle. The common ones (and the only ones I have found so far say LESTER 8634167 with an 86 in a circle. Any help would sure be apreciated and thx in advance.

Take a pic and post it. There are a few variations on that housing. I rec getting a recalibration kt from CK that uses a new seperator plate.

Here are pics of what I am inquiring about --- can anyone help out please

You need to use the plate and accumulator housing that came in the trans originally. Call CK if you need a housing.

Thanks Bison -- I called CK transmissions and talked to Chris -- he said they are interchangeable so I can use the one with the single port -- he's the expert ....
