2004r swap into 87 regal with 200c

I already took the trans out an put the other trans in....its bein held up with the floor jack right now...what do i have to do about the crossmember because it is not lining up right? any help would be appreciated thanx

The frame is different between the 3 and 4 speed trannys. The cross member is different as well. There is 1 company that makes an adaper crossmember kit and it's about $300 if I remember right. To use what you have now you have to weld a new place on the drivers side to mount the different cross member. Sorry to be a downer.

Most regals will have the holes in the frame for the 2004r crossmember.LOCATE THE HOLES ON YOUR FROM.ONE SIDE IS THE SAME BETWEEN BOTH UNITS,AND ONE MAY HAVE EXTRA HOLES.Now if this is the case you can get a crossmember form any 82 and uo gm mid size originally equipt wiTH A 2004R.yOU CAN FIND 1 ON THE PARTS FOR SALE SECTION ON THIS SITE.

Lol. The info Chris gave is right on. Get a crossmember from a regal because the other G bodies may not use the cushions like the regals have. There is at least 3 different x members for g bodies.

The ones that came in the lesser g bodies didnt have the cushions and the holes are small and wont accept the cushions
