The converter isn't any different

but the engine torque between the hot air's and LC2's are different which changes the stall speed of the converter.

Behind a stock LC2 the converter should do 2025.

Which side of the converter is considered the 'face"? The side towards the flex plate or the size towards the trans?

The two halves of the converter are called: Impeller, this is the trans pump half side of the converter. It's also called the pump

Then you have the flexplate side which is called the cover.

The converter codes for all the TR's 84-87 were CA** or CB** and they are 2025 and 1996 stalls respectively. They will stall higher with the torque of the engines.

Thanks for the clarification.
