3.5" down pipe hp gains

Hey i have a question i have a gn with a 3" down pipe would i do better with a 3.5" i have good power now but would i gain anything by putting this on if so how much should i expect
i have a te44 turbo, port and polished steel heads, 3"dp, 42.5# injectors,fmic,poston 107 cam,

going to buy tt chip and 60#injectors
thinking of a alky kit

It will do nothing for your combo, stick with what you have and tune it.

Like the others said a 3.5" downpipe will not help you at all. A few years back a member(GHall maybe?) tested a 3" DP and a 3.5" DP back to back on a 9 second car and even the 9 second car picked up almost nothing with the 3.5" DP. I am sure the exhaust housing on the turbo is much more of a restriction than the DP will ever be.

I found a great deal on a 3.5" THDP, swapped it out with my 3" THDP & gained 1mph (which could be numberous other things besides the DP). It looks cool though! It matches the rest of my combo, much too much for a mid 11 second car, but if I ever step up & build a nice engine, I won't have to upgrade any bolt on parts
