Good morning all I've not been on this site for some time I used to have a small collection of Turbo Trans Ams but sold them to buy a house wish I never did presently what I have that may be up for sale but I cannot find anything that is something to compare to

My next door neighbor is looking to sell their 87 Grand National they bought the thing new it has 300,000 miles on it it was not very well kept but it is still a running everyday driver no rust at all paint basically shines but definitely shows where I will try to get some pictures of it but the garage is tight.

I'm trying to figure out what this car may be worth I can really not find one that is in this bad of shape or this high of miles.

This is basically an all original 300,000 MI Grand National one owner adult own.

Any ideas on what a car like this may go for would be greatly helpful.

He's basically in a situation where he's going to lose his house if he doesn't catch up on payments and this is going to be a big deal for him having owned the car for such a long time

Being a GN, the for sale price will vary, even with high miles. To get some clarity you definitely need photos of car, engine bay and undercarriage if possible. Being a one owner car for 37 years, Service and maintenance records would help out tremendously.
I hate to hear owner is going through some rough times, as that car, I'm pretty sure is a big part of the family. GLWS.

Any strong GN is worth something. Even at 300k miles. I am sure you saw the recent for-sale here that had a very good mid-mile GN from a member for $30k. > My GN for sale

I thought that was cheap, but its his car / not mine. With that said, $18-$19 for a solid high-mile driver?

Anytime I see a GN in the teens its sold in a week.

Having no rust is a big plus. Mechanically , things can be fixed as needed. I think I would sit down with him and get a feel for what he wants. If he is emotionally attached to it , he may be thinking that it is worth way more than it really is. If this is really the only way to save his home, he may be more rational. Without pics it is a big guessing game for everyone. If it makes sense to both of you then you will both be happy. Good luck.

If it’s truly rust free $15-20k is what I’d expect. More if the paint isn’t too bad. More again if the interior is clean.
