With the larger 340 LPH fuel pumps from Aeromotive, Racetronis and Deatschwerks. Can you use a stock return line and a regulator that is stock rail mounted like a Accufab??? Thanks in advance

I bought the racetronix one 340 works fine for me with no mods I had to readjust fuel pressure a couple of times could not get fuel pressure to adjust down with car running and pressure to rail but once shut off and no pressure to rail I was able to adjust down with no problems and has been steady and worked fine ever since

I have a similar problem , hope theirs not a defect..

Hey Kevin,
You may get lucky and get away with it, but lots of guys are having trouble with this set up & the stock return lines. Justin is having the same issue on this board....see his posts.
You can drill out the Saginaw fitting to try & open it up & if that doesn't work you'll need to replace it with a -6AN line.

I installed this pump in my 87 T and can't get fuel pressure below 43psi at idle, line on, around 46psi line off I think. I used my fuel pressure gauge to adjust for max fuel pressure based on my boost level. (60psi fuel pressure @ 17psi boost). My blm goes as low as 118. Plan to drill out the saginaw fittings and go from there.

Same thing for me , fuel press stuck on 45 line off and on, all started when i installed the 340, changed gauge twice and fpr twice, so has to be that return line problem..

I run the Aeromotive with stock a return and have had no problems.

What regulator is being used and what Saginaw fitting do you have to drill??
Thanks for the input

Accufab regulator on mine and didn't drill anything....not saying it's wrong to drill but mine worked out ok.

I wouldn't think 45 would be that much of a problem unless it was fouling plugs or idling rich ?

I can live with 45, my issue is its not budging from that number while trying to adjust it line off or on, I had an older then willie nelson KB fpr on swapped it out for a kirbans billet and same prob, tried changing gauge no change,, hope im not hi-jacking this thread guys...all started when I went from an old ATR pump to a 340 racetronix..not bashing racetronix at all, I have one in my other car works great..

I just swapped my walboro 255 for a aero motive 340 and my fuel pressure is staying at 42lbs line on or off also. Subscribed

How much vac do you have at the line?

The DW pump has some tech in it that lowers output at low demand and I have had zero problems regulating fuel pressure at idle, kirban billet regulator. To the person with the 118BLM, what's wrong with that? I wouldn't worry about that close to 128 and better to have a little too much fuel than not enough. It shouldn't be rich as the computer is doing its job of keeping the injectors open less.

My idle BL's actually went up a bit with the DW pump b/c it lowers output, but this pump keeps up at wot better than my 255 Walboro that I replaced.

When the pump is too much for the return, run a new -8 for the feed and use the stock feed for return. A simple and effective solution.

Rick! You're the man. Very good and effective solution for those having a prob. Are you going to BG this year? See you Saturday if you are brother.

If you decide to just let it roll with the higher pressure make sure you adjust your regulator to move the pressure up at least 2 lbs from bottom at idle, that way the system wiill still function properly. Many chips have BLM adjustments so this will work. Bigger feed is best solution, drilling restrictions in return is next. 99% of the time it is NOT the regulator

Thanks Rick, that makes the best sense...
