I just did a Racetronix 340 and my fuel pressure will not go below 45 either. The Saginaw fittings on my car are already drilled out so I'm upgrading to a -6 return.

How are your blms at idle? I haven't had the chance to check mine nor will I for a while. Curious if the high pressure is going to be that big of a deal as others here have alluded to that it may not be

I just got a new alky control box from Julio my old one went bad so I will know this weekend and post back here.
Most of our chips are set for 43psi. Obviously we have some adjustability built into the chips. I would love to be able to control my base fuel pressure but I know my WB readings were good when I first installed the pump even with the high line pressure. Even more obvious is that we want a 1 for 1 rise. I'm getting the rise with boost and good WB readings so I'm not really sweating the issue, but I'll still do the return line upgrade in the near future.

Cool. I just picked up my new wideband kit. I'll install that and see where it is. If that's fine and I get my 1 to 1 rise, I'll let it go

Got to mess with the car a little today been fighting a head cold all week.not very ambitious this week adjusted fuel pressure got it down to 45 with no problem, but now if I give it throttle the fuel pressure gauge go backwards to 40 instead of increases still to much snow on the ground to take the car out just thought that was kind of weird it holds good pressure when shut off ??

As the fuel demand goes up, from revving it, the regulator will regulate as set since the return isn't as much of a restriction when fuel is used. You may just need to bump the setting up on the afpr, but maybe this is normal operation. Would there be a vacuum increase from revving it that would lower the fuel pressure at the afpr? If vacuum increases and pressure drops, that's normal.

that is correct...the guage will go backwards...at idle in park the ecm would not richen and regulate...it is normal...I thought maybe it wasn't the first time I saw this and checked everything and swapped regulators...I did the AEM pump which is super quiet and works great...idle pressure is 40-42 and most cars are experiencing this...my BLMs are 128-132 ..no less or more.

forgot to add that the car never runs rich either...park or in gear..wideband reads 13.5 - 16

Racetronix 340 and fuel pressure can go as low as 35psi(vac line off-warm motor). Set at 43 now but don't have any data for AFR yet.

Gives me hopes for the spring when I can actually mess with it

Don't know what's so special about mine being that many have trouble getting under 45ish. Maybe my gauge is off. It looks like the gauge kit that Kirban sells and was installed by the PO. No telling how old it is.

If you don't trust the gauge, you'll know if you're close by your BL's being within 10 of 128.

If your pressure wont go down it could be the return line is restricted or the pump is actually big which is why you bought it. Do your self a favor adjust eh regulator until it goes up and then try to lower it, note the pressure where it stops going down and then set the pressure to 1 PSI above that that is your low pressure, you can tune around that with chips and translators in most cases.

Thanks Mike. Great advice. As long as I can tune around it, I'll be happy.

no issues here with dw , had a car I worked on for a guy with hi pressure they had kinked the line slightly at the regulator fitting straightened it out and the pressure issue was fixed.

Is the dw really 340 lph?

Depends on your output voltage to the pump. Go to the deatschwerks website and look at the specs. Then you can do a search here for how much flow you really need.

yeah people go overboard sometimes, a new stock pump hotwired will feed 350 hp that covers 3/4 of the cars on here. can't tell you how many times people think there car is 500hp and it gets slapped on the dyno and puts down 300

I put a DW pump in my buddies car No FP issues The linked line post above brings up a good place to check
