Cant answer that Norbs. Its a trade off. Drivabilty or Race Track. You can get a lock-up that has reasonable slip.
 
The 4l80e are sure gaining popularity from other boards and car types.:rolleyes:Could this be the tranny of the next generation of fast street cars:biggrin:Good info here.

My only experience with the 80e in a turbo car was not a good one. It was a 274ci stage 2 with a GT42-76. IMO the turbo was a good fit for the engine but the converter choices he was limited to with the lock-up killed the entire combo. Get it loose enough to spool and it slipped horribly at the track. Get it to run the back half like it should and it took 200' of track to get going. A 70mm probably would have been a better choice.

Other cars work great with them. Mostly V8 cars that have plenty of torque. The procharged LS engines make great fast street cars with the 80e. I think it will work with the V6 but the combo has to be well thought out.
