Finally got around to Dynoing our Pontiac 2+2. Found lots wrong with it (no fuel pressure above 5000 RPM, the secondaries backing off during the run, too rich, etc.) but even in this crappy state of tune it made 390 HP at the wheels @ 5300 RPM on a Mustang Dyno. The Torque curve is funny, too. Flat at 400ftlbs + or - 5% from 2800 to 5300 RPM. I know it has more in it, however.
My questions are, has anyone tried the new Comp cams 26120 Beehive springs on a 502/502, yet?
The specs seem like they might work, but I'm not an engine builder, so I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone running these.
We are getting close to biting the bullet and switching to fuel injection, since we have had nothing but problems with our current carb/fuel pump set up. I think we'll give it another dyno session before we rip it off.
If I do have to take it apart for FI, i'd like to get some more RPM out of it, and Beehive springs can only help.
