Just noticed that TCI advertises a 6X 6 Spd Auto that is supposedly good for 850 + HP in April Car Craft on p.53,

Does anybody know what trans case this is based on - 200, 700 or 400 ?

probably the new GM 6L60E trans.. or is that a 6L80E.. or maybe it's called something else? it's the new 6 speed auto trans that GM is using in cars and trucks.
wither way, it's probably not cheap and definitely not necessary.

The 6X as the transmission is called, is based on the 4L80E transmission. The extra two gears are achieved by applying the overdrive clutches in the OEM 1st gear and the OEM 2nd gear ranges. The transmission includes a new planetary setup with a 1st gear ratio of 2.97:1.

This is not a new idea, but the valve body is patent pending. The shifts are controlled with TCI's TCU(transmission control unit). With the addtion of the paddle shifter or TCI's Outlaw shifter with manual mode buttons, the driver can manually upshift and downshift the transmission.

It's a blast to drive!
