Its free and you just paypal me for the shipping.

I can take it to work and get it boxed up, I will see if i can get it mailed from work.
What would be easiest from me is if you could prepay UPS for the item after i give the demisions and weight, and email me the paper i could put on the package, would be mailed out tuesday.

That would be the fastest.

I dont have a account at work, but if you want to just paypal me, i can mail out on saturdays usps or ups, i work m-f 6-6 plus drive time :o

Its yours so dont worry about that, we just have to figure out shipping.

I have a UPS account. I can pre-pay and send you a label. Shoot me the dimensions of the package, weight and your address and I'll send you a label.

Thanks!

Jim

I went back to the scene of the crime this morning. It's an intersection that's 8 lanes wide: westbound it's 2 lanes merging and 2 travel lanes; eastbound it's 2 left-turn lanes and 2 travel lanes. This is why I didn't stop yesterday afternoon - I'd have gotten killed trying to pick up the pieces. It's remarkable it didn't hit anything.

Traffic is very light at 6:00 on a Sunday morning. Dividing the 8 lanes there is a 2-and-a-half-foot wide curb. That was the point of impact (that's why no one got hit with it). The glass is dispersed maybe about 20 feet, some of it in the left-turn lane. Nothing bigger than a quarter. Near the point of impact I found my t-top shade. It's still in perfect shape so I brought it home. I couldn't find any evidence of the top hardware in the median. After looking harder I found it in the shoulder of the eastbound travel lanes. Someone must've swept it aside because it didn't get there by itself. Here's all that's left:

I was hoping for some bigger chunks of trim but it's not to be. I have some random screws and stuff in case I come up with some trim and a handle.

Got the top today - thanks a lot Bryan!

The latching mechanism is different than on the '87 but it still locks into place. It'll keep it dry until I find a decent '87 top.

Thanks again!

Glad it got there in one piece, shipping glass is a pain.

I had no idea that the mechanical workings would be different, but hopefully the 87 inside trim piece will screw on... and a 87 handle would work?

Keep it dry man :)

It looks great. It's slightly different in appearance than an '87 (it has a thin black 'frame' around the edges), but for what it is (an '85) it's nice. By "mechanism" I mean where the handle goes. On the '87 the handle is horizontal - it swings out toward the inside of the car to unlock. On this one, it looks like the handle goes vertically - you pull it down to unlock it. I just used a pair of channel locks to lock it. I don't have any '87 trim (it's in little pieces) so I don't know if it will fit. I don't think it would, though, given the different handle arrangement.

No matter though - the '85 top keeps the rain and wind out. I can drive the car now which is all that matters.
