Dont give him any more ideas John,PleaseBrett,
Do you have to run a 3 bolt turbo on your car?
I'm well aware that a 4 bolt is the way to go as far as a newer turbo goes. Am well aware of the restrictions of a 3 bolt as well. It's a street car and has already gone 9.80's with the old setup. It's what came on the car when I bought it. I certainly would not go in that direction if I was looking to upgrade my DP right now.
My DP is setup for a 3 Bolt and was seeing what kinda results people were having with the newer 3 bolts. HP? Track times? Etc...
You should be watching "The Shield" and not worrying about a turbo
that will put you and your car in the woods!
It already has 300HP more than you can handle!
Good point!More like 550 more than he can handle assuming a crown vic is about 250hp:tongue:

Brett, I got a brand new GTQ 76 3 bolt for sale:biggrin:
Hell if you want the twin kit, we will sale you the one off the car:biggrin:
Hahaha..... you guys are so funny. I still need to catch up from last years season. I'm way behind with "The Shield".
Anyway, I watch "The Shield" every nite at work...![]()
He needs to think about driving the car and stop throwing $ at it. I think hes afraid of itWhat 76mm turbo do you have on it now?? Gotta honestly wonder if you would pick up much if any from going to a newer 76mm from an older one especially considering the 3-bolt. Also, running 9.80's with the 200r4 trans makes for an awesome street car, if you want to go much faster I'd venture to say you would need to think about going with a TH400.

Vic Mackey has it way tougher than you ever will!
It has a LT-76 turbo w/ 4" comp housing at .85. I guess that is Limit Engineering? Not really sure to be honest and neither does anyone else who has seen it. I'm not even sure if its a BB.
I hear what ur saying on that 2004r. I will just run it until it breaks and have either Otto or Bison rebuild it and then sell it. I think I would actually rather have the 400 but I loose OD.
I was thinking of the 4L80e but Otto dosen't like it. There are very few proven cars with a 4L80e as Otto pointed out to me. Plus the additional electronics required to actually be an Auto is quite a bit more money. Maybe I'll trade someone for their 400. Not sure yet.
I have been told by Otto, Bison and a dozen others that HP gain would be nominal and would only occur and very high boost if i went with the GTQ. Considering I wont be pushing more then 25 PSI on the street its probably a waste of money to switch. I'm hardheaded I guess. I'll probably buy one anyway...

Brett,
I really like the build-up on your car, sounds like you will eventually have to decide how much faster you really want to go with the car and how much further you want to get away from being a real streetable car. I personally feel where your car is at (9.80's) is a really nice place to be with a car that still has OD with the 200r4 trans, hyd. cam, and a rollbar not a full cage.
The 4L80E is definitely NOT cheap, I know somebody down here involved in building a serious AWD Syclone and that is what he has. Few of the Sy/Ty guys have run very fast with them, actually Robert in Sweeden has one in his 8 sec AWD Syclone.
Broken parts or bonesare only a few weeks away. Getting an alignment as we speak. Otto still has to tune it on the dyno. Then were gonna see how it runs with all the new upgrades.
