My tranny has been having shifting problems lately, ie it wont upshift until 4000 rpm. Checked the TV cable and everything seems normnal, so i decided to drop the tranny pan to see if any governor springs fell out. I removed the governor to find one with a small weight on one side and a large weight on the other like an 86/87 governor...but it has 2 springs...where as the 86/87 models didnt have 2 springs...?? Can someone help me out? Should i take a spring out? And if so, which one, the heavy spring or the light spring?

only need the spring on the larg weight, just take the other one out, make shure right gov &valve body

now, as it is, the blue large spring is on the light weight side, and the regular metal weaker spring is on the heavy weight side. I should switch the blue spring to the heavy weight side?

the weak spring when assembled on the heavy weight or primary side allows the trans to upshift at a road speed of approximately 5 mphour earlier than if it was omitted at minimum tv pressures up to12 to 16 mphour.after this it has no effect on operation as the primary weight is fully extended at this road speed.
