I am in Maine on vacation and had problems finding 93 octane. now the station is at 91 yet charging 93 prices... what are my options? I am living 30 miles north of Portland Maine... is the new fuel standard cheaper fuel but same price or higher... wish I could eliminate my need for a car...

If octane boost, what do you use and name brands, who to avoid, what are other people using... I don't want octane treatment, dont want race fuel... I don't want to go to parts store and ask clueless people...

Maine Gas Sucks.

They passed a law here in Maine a year ago this spring that 91 was the max on octane..there's a station close to me that still has 93 on his pump but the tank is empty..he sells 87 only (Shell)
Sounds like your close to Oxford...check out there 1/8 mile track. There's another 1/8 mile track a little south of Bangor. Winterport Dragway.

9sec.

For a quick boost:biggrin: til you get back home, mix 3 gallons of 91 octane with one gallon of xylene with 1/2 ounce of miracle oil added and you will get a 97.5 octane level.
Octane boosters have been discussed and none of them work.
In the long run, alky injection is the answer.
