98 grand cherokee

I just purchased a used trans for my 98 grand Cherokee , in checking it out I discovered it was`nt a 42Re but a 43Re, can somebody tell me what is the difference and will it work in my application.

That's an old style trans from the earlier Jeeps. I have a 98 Grand Cherokee 2WD and the only ones that interchanged were from 98' and 99' :frown:

I got a handle on this today, it appears what I have is a Asain Warner trans out of a 99 Cherokee and I have a Grand Cherokee.
