They take a C5 vette, and chop the body panels off and custom fit '67 like panels on it.
I saw this on the "Powerblock" today on Spike and looked it up. Looks pretty cool. I love the old cars but always hate the suspension and technology of them..this is the best of both worlds. Just have to find a low mile C5 and $65k.

That's Trick

That is really nice. That was the problem with them old cars the suspension. Also saw a 53 setup on a C5 right down to the headlight umpire looking face guards. The rear end looked just like a 53, had the chrome trim down the sides to mimic the body-curve. They sure did a nice job the hood scoop the split bumpers that kit is really cool. Just needs a new LS 427 to round out the kit.

Thats what I was thinking too..if you're going to spend that much, it needs to include some motor mods but I do not beleive it does. For sure an LS7 with maybe even a supercharger like the Blue Devil setup..or whatever they are planning to call the new vette with that setup.

yeah ive dreamed, I met guy at old town in Kissimmee at car show they have every weekend who took a 61 like mine and built it with SR111 frame and C5 suspension and Ls1 with tri 6-speed, he had dvd player in it as well, pretty sharp build.

Even a C4 upgrade in suspension is way better then the C3 squat.

I was going to do somthing with a 76 stinkray i have in my garage but lost interest when i picked up the Buhog so it just sits in the corner

Looks pretty nice but the winshield angle is laid back too much making the convertible top look wrong. I know it is more aero but it screams "kit car" to me.

Remember its a C5 car really, I don't think they are cutting the frame or A-pillars and such, they basically cut off all the outside body panels off the C5 and replace them with the hand crafted '67 replica panels.
Not really a "kit" car like the Shelby Cobras, but its C5 everything except skin, including C5 interior and dash etc.

Here's a real '67 vert to compare to, the rear looks higher too on the conversion, the side panels don't have the shaped pronounced as much, and the bumpers are smaller. The conversion looks to be "modernized" a bit on its shape....almost like what GM would do if they made a "retro" vette like ford did the crustang :)

Damn my favorite year vette, that is so cool, but it sounds like $100k is the total with getting the car.

The back of the top does look a tad off but this is a really great piece of car art.

I think it looks ugly but might be mostly due to that windshield angle as others pointed out already.
