I am in talks with a fella in Mi that has some "extra" buick motors. What I have been told is that there are 2 stage 2 complete engines, a stage 1 block with crank and heads, and a "few" 4.1 complete buick engines.

My question is what are the differences between the whole lot? Were the stage motors production motors or???

What is the significance of the regular 4.1?

I am new to the 4.1 aspect all together and have always skipped the threads about them simply because of the cost of the stage engines.

Basically, what's the big deal???

I want to know before I drop a few hundred dollars.....

A stage block is a racing block that GM built for racing only. If you want extra power then go with the 4.1 but it will cost more than a 3.8 because they're not as common.

I had a 4.1 252ci regular... basically more power over the 3.8 and most parts will swap over... as-far as I know they will. I had a 4.1 I was building, but I had to move and couldn't take it with me, had to sell it:(
