yes it is legal. It has 4.25%petroleum distillates added to it. It would make you very sick if you drank it. I work in a plant that uses straight 200 proof for the extraction of soy phospholipids and we experimented with the other alcohol that has the 4.25% added and it didn't work out so I purchased the alcohol. It works awesome. Your not that far from me why don't you come and buy some and try it for yourself? Not only that it is cheaper than buying it at home depot or other stores.
