So I just threw a dual nozzle SMC kit on the other night and car runs like a raped ape, but the numbers don't seem to line up.


44 psi FP, 19# boost, adj. stock wastegate, alky pump speed 7.5, the "spray on" light kicks on at 13 psi on the gauge. Translator was set at 2% lean WOT, no change idle, Licht 009 alky chip 20* timing.


02's were 810-830 with 8.5 and 5.4 knock retard on two runs

Got a little worried with that kind of KR, so I turned pump speed to 8 and now it sprays 11 psi....800-815 02's and 3.7 KR

without changing anything else, I set WOT to 4% rich on the Translator and 02's dropped to 730-710 but all the KR went away????

Should I leave it there or are the 02s too low?
 
KR seems kinda high. Was it transitional knock? Is your DP hitting anything when the motor torques over? Personally, I would want my O2's higher. I'm not comfortable running close to the ragged edge and like to see them from 780-820 or so. I'd rather be rich myself there than possibly run the risk of grenading a motor.

Maybe Razor will jump in and give expert advice on tuning the alky set up. Alky sure is great isn't it? Good luck!
 
Doesnt make sense that you add more fuel at WOT and the o2's crash. Unless you were so far out of tune..

Its like this.. if you have KR.. add alcohol and reduce fuel to keep the same AFR. Having the car in the 800's is too rich to begin with especially top of third gear where the numbers come into play.

Turn the pump speed up on the SMC, and get your O2's at WOT in the upper 700's.

If things dont happen this way.. you need to figure out why.

Get back to basics and lower boost. Once you have it running where it needs to be at 16 PSI.. work your way up.

02s are 810 with 1.2 KR on the shift....car runs great!
