Man looking at the threads..3 in 2 days

Bad thing is these cars are targeted for a reason not for a joy ride like some 94 luumina

And they all know where your hidden kill switch is

Man ive learned alot in just a few short months

I have 3 kill switches and they must be set in a certain order to work..other then that i dont know what else to do, i pack heat but that wouldnt help me when im in the piggly wiggly buying milk and eggs

I'm wondering if it's mainly the TR's getting stolen? Or are all G bodies still hot cars for theft?

I know when I had my 86 Cutlass 2 door HT 10 + years ago they were hot to steal then...my cousin (previous owner of the car) said someone tried to steal it......TWICE!

Likely all G-body cars. Pretty popular style with the gangbangers.

I freaked out the one time I left my car to go into AutoZone and buy oil. I hardly ever take it anywhere and leave it.

They are just to easy to break in, unless you have all the electrical crap you need to kill it. I mean, just the windows alone are one of the best way to break in these cars. And I really think it has been the most popular body style ever produced by and company IMO.

Yeah they are getting snatched everywhere. I hate to even drive mine anymore, but dam them. Maybe i will hear someone got one under the hood.

LOL. That will be very funny, especially if the hood doesn't stay and falls on the perpretator.

Ideas to keep G Body theft down:

1) Buy a MEAN DOG & keep it with your car.

2) Buy a Blow up Gangster Doll so when the HOMIES see another they will just keep on driving by.

3) fuel cut out

4) ignition collar

5) If yo got wife & kids take them with you. Makem stay in your car as protection.

6) Move to a better hood.

2112, Besides Flint is not the best place in the US to live unless you live outside the city or in the burbs. Flint has totally gone down hill if you were speaking about Flint and car thefts and all the other crime there, what was it this year number 298 or something like that out of 300 with that size population of places to live, I was born and raised in Flint. Now that GM has all but moved out, used to be a good place to live.

Ya know Ron I really dont have many issues with the town or the people yeah its low budget and it did make 298 out of 300..lol. I live in the township so not too bad, and although Mich weather and the roads blow there is still a big contingent of gofast here.

Na I was on the other area, threads on stolen cars etc and read of a few in the last couple of days. I dont think i ever been so paranoid to leave a car unattended as this one:(

My method works really well against theft.

Dismantle the car and take 3 years to put it back together, lol.

Good one!:D

What about lo-jack system? Isn't that a satellite system you can hide somewhere on the car, then it can be traced by the company/or law dogs. I've only heard about it, never seen one. Don't have a web site.

+2! According to the brothers on 24's the reason a TR is a good target is because they are clean. Most of our cars have straight rust free sheet metal. It's easy to sell the interior and engine, especially in little pieces. All they want is the body as they are easy to retag. I dont know how many times I've been down in the boneyard and have had a pissing match on who was going to get what part off a Regal or Cutlass. Everybody is cool. I've even invited peeps over to my place to check out the parts I have for sale. The conversation always turns to how hard it is to find good parts. If they sound to OG aint no way they are getting my addy.

I dont have a problem leaving it in a parking lot. I dont do it if I'm gone for more than 20 minutes and only in the day light. Assuming most of the thefts take place after sunset. You're paranoid if you think the perps follow you around waiting for the opportunity.

Wake Up Eric ! Read up on " My Dad's GN Stolen 1-5-08" Stolen from a store parking lot in less than 15 minutes, in broad daylight (noon)

20 years ago, when mine was still a daily driver, I came out of the store 5 minutes later and found a car full of the aforementioned quality individuals parked 6 inches from my driver's door. Fortunately for us both, they chose not to confront me, or the 8 rounds of .45 in my hand. I still have the slim- jim they left in my driver's door.

P.S. Just recently added 5 rounds of .410 !!

I agree...crooks cant tell time unless its time to get out of prison, friend of mines car was gone within 5 mins with the sun shining bright in a very well to do area.

The cars are targets and id bet if they seen it on the road and could follow it to mark it they would...its just a job to them so its like a little field work

Funny but true. If they want your car, they'll take it, regardless of daylight or other people being able to see them. How many people do you think have the guts to interrupt a car theft? If anything, someone would be nice enough to call the cops if they saw someone breaking your door open, but nobody is going to stop them from taking it and the criminals know that. They can steal a car in a crowded parking lot and not have a word said to them.

I haven't had to break into a Gbody in over 10 years, so it would probably take me 45 seconds since I am so rusty, lol.

Are the Fox Body Stangs as easy to get into as our cars?
