Anyone running a PTE FM and try installing an Alradco Extreme dual fan kit? I pulled both pipes to install the fans, can't get the turbo to intercoler pipe back in. Its like that fan needs to be about an inch thinner before it even thinks of going back in. Any suggestions?

Nick

Cut the pipe and put a rubber silicone whatever hose in the middle to give yourself more adjustability...I cut mine last time I had it apart, life is 10 times easier now and they fit before.

I'm running jegs dual fans and a eastern FMIC and I had to cut the same pipe and add a piece of hose been that way for years and no issues.

I really don't want to do that, but I might have no choice. Did your pipe from the intercooler to TB fit OK?

Nick

With the slim fan kit I JUST cleared the pipes on my rjc setup. That's why I was confused the extreme fan kit is suggested for Fmic cars, I knew clearance was going to be an issue. I understand why the bigger fans are suggested but the piping is just too close. As suggested the silicone hoses I'm sure will take care of it. :)

Dual Extreme fans did not fit with my GN1 FM. No matter which way I move or position the pipe there is no room. I now run a "hybrid" It has the higher flow fan on the left side and on the right it has the slim fan. Fits perfect.

Which "slim" fan did you use? Spal?? I am looking into have to upgrade and I have a GN1 FM as well and concerned about which dual fans will fit. Anyone have a Ram Charger dual fan with a GN1 FM??

The Spals are what comes with the slim kit and clears for moi

This exact issue is why the Hybrid design was made... I told Peter there was no way the extreme set up would work... this is what we did.

Royal, that looks like my set up. The turbo is clocked down in the 4 o clock position so the turbo to IC pipe is closer to the fan.

Here is my update. I purchased an 8 inch section of 3" inch hose from PTE along with their HD clamps. I took the intercooler tube to work and cut it in the machine shop. I made the cut in the muddle of the straight section after the 90° turn exiting the turbo. I can now reposition the pipes as needed to avoid the fan. The gap between the tubes is about 2". I wanted the 8" tube to be sure I had more than enough to join and seal the pipes. Now I just need a 90+ degree day to test out the dual fans! Thanks for the help guys!

Nice job. I would say with your setup, as with Aaron, reconfigure both fans to come on together. It seems to work very well together. Really simple to do too.
