Just wondering what the difference is between the alternators with the fan blades on the outside as aposed to the newer ones without? Also who's the cheapest place to buy one from?

The alt fans w/o external blades won't salad-shoot your finger tips. :)

The above fans are found on 140a & up HD packages, e.g. LE, etc.

Tens of thousands of customers w/perfect feedback:

Honest, helpful and fast!

If all you want is that newer fan,
any local GM dealer is the source.

That will eliminate additional shipping costs. :)

You'll need a washer the thickness of a quarter
behind it, if you're using your TR alternator with it.

Very commendable!!!!!!

Jack Armstrong. I'm impressed.
a guy asks for info you supply it , no cost, no strings, no hard sell,
even tell him where to get it.
I will recommend you anytime ! hope your quality and service is like your help.

I need a new alternator and was just wondering what the differences were so i know wich to go with...
The link is not working for me?
Thanks for the input..
I appreciate it

Here's what I did...I took the alternator apart, sent all the parts to be chromed, and also added one of these plates (supposedly found on some front-wheel drive GM cars)...I got the plate from an alternator and starter rebuilding shop. Here are pics of the plate and the finished result...

Claude

P.S: The link doesn't work for me either...:frown:
