Yeah, I am going to have to disagree with you... Jet liners are not built out of steel and never will be... They are built out of composites and aluminum. Plus the added strength of the extra .5in dia makes it even stronger. Aluminum is more that strong enough if properly designed.

Dennys in the TTA an i need to put 1 in the GN ... i witnessed shanes carnage of the stock drive shaft .... it broke the trans back end beat up the floor board an started a fire

wow whats shanes driveshaft's problem?

he shreded it at about the 1k foot mark .... as far as i know it was a stock drive shaft in his rosewood T at the time ... looked like u twisted a soda can and riped it apart in 2 peices

I have been told that AL driveshafts are not a good choice if you launch hard off a trans brake. At launch, the driveshaft goes from being completely unloaded to very heavily loaded almost instantly, which puts a helk of a shock on it. Aluminum, supposedly, is not as capable of handling those shock loads (compared to steel). The engineer in me seems to agree with that, but I'd be interested in hearing other's opinions on this...

Sent from my HTC Droid Incredible using Turbo Buick

the shaft can take it , but...
it doesnt twist and absorb like steel , it transfers the shock to the rear like a hammer and is hard on gears and yokes
