Ok, so I want a front mount intercooler, but I don't want to spend $1000 on a "ready-made" kit...

Since all the piping will be custom, I'm wondering which would be better for the uppipe - aluminum or silicone?

The aluminum would be a welded one-piece.

Anything silicone would probably be made with reinforced silicone straights and 90's and coupled with 3" or 4" length pieces of aluminum tubing on the interior.

I know the aluminum would have less pressure drop, but the silicone would probably keep the air temp down better - Which one is more important?

TIA

I really don't know, but I'm going to guess the quality/quantity of airflow are more important than the couple degree temp difference you'll see between the materials.
