The wife and I were watching American Chopper tonight and got into
a discussion about the price tags on the bikes they build.

I say they average around $75k, the wife says $100k.

Anybody know what these bikes sell for?

OCC bikes

The American Chopper OCC bikes start at 40k and go up from there depending on the Customization wanted and done to bike. Believe that was a quote from the main fabricator Vinnie. Vinnie stays busy working/fabricating instead of being a Drama queens like old man Tuetal and Paulie jr....

Some of the big customs like the 911 fire bike go for as much as $150,000. Also they actually built multiple copies of some of the bikes like the fireman bike for their own collection.

I have heard that it is upwards of $600k + for a "feature build" and 2 episode "infomercial" for your company (Gillette, Wendys, CAT, etc.)

Not sure what their ratings are but usually the company gets 2 shows worth of advertising out of the build.

Vinnie and Cody are no longer their they started their own shop

Really? Ya know looking at Vinnie's house on the show I would say that OCC was paying him $10 an hour. I guess that dosen't suprise me tho. They were replacable. They really didn't make a lot of things. Vinnie basically wired the bikes and put them together. I guess anyone with some skills could do that.

Here's a link to their site. O R A N G E C O U N T Y C H O P P E R S . C O M
I would imagine they consider these off the rack bikes. The custom stuff is probably based on materials and labor. Expect labor to start at $100 or more per hour.

Vinnie and Cody have thier own shop. I bet both of them are pretty comfortable after that show. What most people dont relize is that everybody and anybody who appears on that show get residuals. Even if Paul Sr. was paying them minium wage they could be raking $10K or more per episode. Lots more if they are union actors. And that money keeps coming in everytime those episodes air. IIRC Vinnie had a Caddy CTS-V that was in the pages of GMHTP. They installed a supercharger and some suspension bits. I bet he had 6 figures wrapped up in it.

OCC... Just a bunch of maroons :p I would have left the company to, if I had to work with someone like Sr.

Im sure they get additional money but his house looked like a trailer from down south. He apparently isn't making that much money. He could not even afford a roof at one time and Sr, Jr, etc. installed one for him as a suprise.

Is OCC still being carried as a TV show for next year? I wish they would film more custom bikes that were not theme bikes. Theme bikes get a little old after a while.

I almost forgot I had spent money with OCC. My wife collects autographs and since we live 30 minutes from Daytona we have a lot of autographed items from most of those bike builders that have been on TV. Even Indian Larry and of course that first class doofus Jesse James. We have a couple of pairs of womens thong undies from the OCC site that have been autographed by Paul,Paul jr,Mikey,Vinnie and Cory.

Now my wife also has a saying. "You know you've made the big time when they make an action figure of you". Well I've changed that to include PEZ dispensors. We picked up one of these from the candy store at the mall. The OCC crew have the distinction of being the first "living" people to have thier likeness made into a PEZ toy. Oh boy!
