did not go what i had hoped but getting there...drove an hour to the local track and with a 1.56 60' posted a 9.99 at 137.2....backed it with a 9.91 at 137.8 on a 1.55 60' but let out a little up top as i heard a noise....last pass left a little harder and posted a 1.48 60' but let out as i heard what sounded like a flutter...drove the car home with no problems only to see i blew a cometic head gasket...bad luck in the past 2 months all of a sudden with this car hope to have it back together thsi week and gonna try to make a full pass with the header welded back up and new headgaskets and see if i cant eek in the 9.7 range...kit has only had one pump failure in 5 years, thanks for the killer kits Julio

Do you know what caused the gasket failure?

my guess is just getting greedy with boost..it was a .060 cometic which to my opinion at these higher boost levels just gives you more area to have a blowout, lol i have .040's on the way from cotton then back to the track again before the year is over

Congrats on the 9 sec passes! Post your whole timeslip if you don't mind.

Congrats... I knew you where close... way to go... ;)

Nice job!! What combo helped you get there?

congrats and sorry to hear about the head gasket. good thing u got it home ok.

combo is a 109 block with ported stock heads, 215/220 roller cam, stock intake, 3" full exhaust, 3200stall with a th350 trans, 72's 3" downpipe, precision frount mount, xfi...yes car was on hess 93 with razors kit...according to the calculators my convertor is slipping alot up top so i doubt i can get much more mph out of it till i swap in a PTC one but on my last pass i think i would have went a high high 9.7 but let out after hearing a noise....hope ot be going back to track right before thanksgiving to give it another crack

Nice times man!

Hope you get everything back together and get that 9.7x, that would be an awesome acomplishment with ported irons!!! Good luck.

Fastest time I know off on iron heads with a 109 block is 9.55 from Roy Garcia a few years ago in TSM trim. Your not far off on a car that is street driven and issues associated with a street car like carbon deposits/buildup which can be bad news at really high pressures.

Just keep an eye on her.. thats all.. :D

if i can get the 9.7 out of it with a full run on a good 60' im gonna then swtich over to a PTC convertor and see how much further i can get with these heads cause like i had said it seems im haveing to much convertor slippage with the pats at this level....

honestly i have not truly weighed the car in some time i took a couple pounds out but i have gained some myself, lol im 6'5" 295lbs i need a jocky to drive it then it will put up a killer number, but my guess is right around 3650...the turbo is a dual ball bearing innovative 70 qtrim
