I picked up my GN from Papa Lou yesterday after he fixed a few things for me to help get it ready for the track on Oct 31.

I looked under my hood and what did I see looking back at me?
My very own Lou Czarnota Racing Engines sticker.
I nearly cried and slobbered all over myself....
Thanks, Papa Lou.
You're the best!

LOL:biggrin:
Nope.
But my runs at Fontucky should be videotaped one way or another.
Should be quite the spectacle watching me try to learn how to launch a Turbo Buick for the first time at the track without red lighting....

Since all it takes is a sticker....

My grandson's ride was juiced by Lou months ago...

Pick a time, Pick a Place, and leave the excuses at home!

Hey Chicken, no diffrent then street light, green means gooooooo!!!!

Hey rooster !

Chicken when you race your car think 60ft. It's all about that if you cant pull at least a 1.7 your e.ts will be disappointing & you will be very unpleasant to deal with. I would do some practice launches somewhere safe before you go to the track. Also do some online practicing with a Christmas tree simulator. NHRA Sportsman and Pro Tree Simulators is a good one. Better make me proud or I will pluck you publicly with the Z06.

no WCN? whats with that? we need the socal people to come down

Why not? I had him asking for "Momma Juice" instead of milk @ 18 months.

Besides, he likes animals.

I just did the Sportsman Tree (That's what they use at Fontucky)
First one I redlighted...second I cut a 0.531 and it told me I'm a Pro.
WOW!

This is sooooooo easy!:D

Out of about 20 tries....0.516...best so far....
Most of my mouse clicks are in the 0.54 range.

Had one "Hit the Nitrous and Pray" and one "Better hope the other lane breaks"

The other strategy is staging correctly set the top bulb & have the turbo starting to spool as you creep in & trip the second. Try first leaving with only a couple of # of boost to see if it will hook. The more boost that you can leave with without losing traction the better the 60 ft & E.T. & your on your way to being a star.

Chicken choker, computer simulations and the real world are 2 different things, remember that with a buick you are not trying to cut a great tree but get the best launch possible, so dont even worry about cutting a perfect tree, concentrate on getting the best launch ever, I say leave the nittos at 14psi, launch at around 2-3 psi and hang on they should stick pretty good if you do a good burnout, your car doesnt make that much power anyway so you will be okay.. once again concentrate on launching the car not on the tree..

Thats correct but the track is not the street he cant cheat & if he doesn't want to be a roasted chicken & keeps diss'ing my Z06 the bald scum will need every advantage possible.

Hey...bald is in!
I aint one to brag but.....I went bald from making so many high speed u-turns under the sheets with the ladies....wore my hair clean off.

I aint one to point fingers...but.....you checked the roof lately, Pap Lou?
That comb over is pretty visible.....don't jump into a pool....

What I'm worried about most at the track is my staging...
I've always had pretty quick reflexes compared to most, so I think I'll get the reaction time dialed in farely quickly. But when I get worked up with adrenalin....my feet start to shake....and if I loose my hold on the brake peddle from my foot bouncing around, I'll roll right through the lights and everyone will talk about me.

Hey Harold.
I understand your point on the simulators not being real world, but....what you're developing is that trigger impulse that you need while reading the tree and timing your reaction to it.

I remember during a walk through the pits in my younger days, I was watching this pro-driver do something I didn't understand. He was holding a yard stick vertical between his thumb and finger out in front of him by the bottom end. He would then open and close his fingers on the yard stick as quick as he could and stop it from dropping.
I talked to one of the crew members about it. He said his goal was to stop the yardstick and always reduce the distance it would fall. He said it helped him to develop and keep sharp the impluse reflexes used against the tree.
