Hey guys, looking for a quality piece that will attach to my jack so i can easily and safely remove the 200 under the gn when I need to. what you guys use?? I dont have the coin to buy a trans jack.

thanks

I use one, basically a flat pan with 3 raised edges. Remove the jack pad and replace with the pan. Bought it probably 15 years ago and damned if I can remember the brand. Works fine.

That's it! If I remember right I had to have the post of it cut down so it would work with my jack.

k, thanks man. I suppose you are happy with it?? trans is balanced well during install/removal???

I bought a cheap tranny jack from harbor freight and have been very happy with it. It was less than $100 but it's not hydrolic. You have to use a 1/2" ratchet to use it but it's never given me a problem yet.

I had to cut the neck down for my alum jack also. A little trick I learned was take a ratchet strap and go around the tranny and the tranny pan and ratchet snug. No way it can slip and their is enough play with the plate to align the tranny in the dowel.Good luck

you guys mounted the trans on the adapter while it was under the car or outside the car and jacked the car up stupid high to fit under the frame rail?

I just picked one up on sale, with a 20% off coupon for 65 and change, I think,

Worth every penny. Ir's handy for storing extra transmissions too, roll it wherever you want.

That's the suck part - we had to hoist it on the jack under the car.

The strap is pretty useless. Read the reviews - you will need a 1/2" impact to lift it.

ttaowner. I was looking at that to but looks so tall that it would be a whore and a half to get a trans on it from under the car???

all those adjustments are super helpful. i have done about 15 trannys so far and wouldnt do another without it !!!! what i do is have a 8x8 x12 piece of wood that i kinda get the tranny up on then kinda tilt the tranny onto the jack then slide it on. the key here is tall jack stands. also if you could get a friend to help you lift it directly on the jack and skip the wood step.

another thing i have done is when doing a tranny on my car lift i would put a 55 gallon barrel under the car with a piece of plywood on top the put the jack on the wood with the tranny attachment on top then i would lift the tranny on top of it all. then raise up and lower the car down and adjust the adjustments to get the tranny attachment where needed.

im telling you those adjustments are super helpful !!! my buddy even used it to put a super heavy 6 spd in his 01 ss camaro. i wouldnt do it any other way. also look around on the net i bought mine for $30 in the local chinese tool store

i use the chain that comes with it or nothing at all . those adjustments are kinda of important,

This is what I use. Works great for gas tanks too!
