I bought a cheap tranny jack from harbor freight and have been very happy with it. It was less than $100 but it's not hydrolic. You have to use a 1/2" ratchet to use it but it's never given me a problem yet.
you guys mounted the trans on the adapter while it was under the car or outside the car and jacked the car up stupid high to fit under the frame rail?

this is what i use. you have to have a jack where the round swivel part comes off though. i have changed many a turbo regal tranny with this thing.
