Ive got a small project Im working on that's non car related. Ive tried having prototypes made via other methods and they just havent worked out. I wanted to see if anyone here is a machinist that might be willing to take this on and work with me. This is a product Im intending to market so there will be a production run, I just need to get a workable prototype made.

If anyone can help me out, drop me a PM please.

Send me a PM of what kind of idea youve got and Ill see what I can do. We have 26 Haas CNC mills. Do mastercam programing and have some great machinist working for us. Always looking for new production work.

What I want is going to be trivial compared to some of this stuff. Problem Im having is that what I want is so niche, people either want a zillion dollars to prototype it or they just dont wanna do it at all.

Jay I don't think people are clear on what you need done?

I know I wasn't after reading your posts, no offense.

Anyway, most prototypes are done by toolmakers or machinists on regular machines, not CNC equipment, especially until a working prototype is finished.

Are you looking for that to start?

Or perhaps you have an idea you need to see if CNC machining can work for the production runs of it, need to see if that equipment is suitable for it?

You working in steel, aluminum, plastics?

Do you need special tolerances on the prototypes?

What Im working on is a mount for bicycle computers and lights. Ive got a prototype but its really not what I want... I dont think without going to a CNC product Im going to be able to end up with what I want. It really needs to be thinner aluminum, which cant be welded and the clamping collars are way too large in their present state.

Its a simple piece.. two matching mounting arms with a rod in between them. The problem is getting it light and not making it a monstrosity.
