Just bought a LML for shop use. 4x4 reg cab long bed. I am not that impressed. My 06 LBZ with PPE level 3 pulls much harder. Only thing I really like about the new truck is the exhaust brake.

Bought one!

I traded my 05 Duramax for this 2011 Duramax a week ago. I dont have the zip my 05 had but my 05 wasnt stock either. But it pulls my 5th wheel like a dream. It seems way more safer, stable, comfortable, and beefy'r. Same exact truck as my 05 but this has leather. I'm going to buy step bars, camper mirrors and a programmer soon. I like it

delete your DEF and delete your warranty...DEF hasn't been all that bad...refill mine about every 5K to 7.5K miles...get much better fuel economy because of decrease in EGR and subsequent reduction in active regeneration than the truck I had before that didn't have the DEF/SCR system...up about 3-4 mpg on avg.....can buy it at Wal-Mart $11.88 for 2.5 gals...auto parts stores have it too at about the same $

Buy a Dodge.... If you are worried about it having a little less power at least it wont leave you on the side of the road:rolleyes:

Nice truck! I have noticed the 2011 has all new design on brakes and it does stop on a dime. I bought some nice 5" steps off ebay that look sharp. They were most expensive ones but funny thing is i stop at gas stations and that is the most noticed thing on the truck lol.

Ok i lifted it today and put some Nitto 38/13.50/24's on it. Still rides nice and smooth. Monday im ordering 5" exhaust, programmer & intake to see what power this thing will make:biggrin: Urea tank and all that exhaust crap will be gone finally!!54 001.jpg54 002.jpg

When i was lookin at chevy duallys for my car haul buisness cause im a GM guy i kept finding chevys with just under or over 100,000 miles on them with brand new engines in them make ya wonder....I bought a 08 dodge 3500 cab chassis manual trans and ive but 60,000 miles on it since november no probs yet pulls my 50 ft 3 car up and down the mountains in PA no prob and its detuned cause its a cab chassis lol...I weighed my truck and trailer loaded on this last trip and it was 29,400 lbs...empty with trailer it was 15,900lbs..So my 08 DODGE is pulling 20-22000lbs on a regular basis !!!

I have never seen a duramax with a blown motor. Maybe they were in a flood? Or maybe they were raced and pushed past the limits? I have had one with 190k on it and all it ever needed was 2 batteries. My red one has a 8" lift and 37" tires 187k same thing 2 batteries and an axle seal. I pull a lot also with my trucks red truck i weighed trailer at dump and it was 29k pounds. It did cause one of my rear rims to have a hairline crack in it though.

Majority of the farmers in this area run the Dmax. The 01's and 02's are well over 200k. I don't know of any of them who have blown a motor. My 02 2500 is at 140k with the only issue being the injectors and water pump. It's pulled enclosed trailers it's whole life. I've been in others but none of them have the ride or the power. We just swapped trailers. New trailer is a 48' enclosed, pulling it with a 2011 3500. The new dually is a monster. You can tell the frame, brakes and everything about the truck has been upgraded. It just hauls ass and rides great.
