Anyone running or have experience with Comp cams Billet 224/224 roller cam ?
I aquired one in a parts deal.
Dont know if it will fit well into my plans of ;

BB 70 ptrim
Unported champion alum
83# inj
3200 stall
in 2800 # street car

Ive ran one in a 260 ci Stage 2 motor. My motor ran great with it. But that cam would be BIG for a 231.

I have to agree  , it could be too big for stock motor , I use the same cam but with my 3.55 stroker 0.40 over , runs great , idles great too :) .

I've run one for a couple plus years now and its very streetable, pulls very hard on the strip, and got 18+ mpg on a recent 200 mile freeway trip.

I had one in my Stage II motor and I loved it. If I had the chance to install the same cam again I would. FWIW, I run a 224/224 solid flat tappet cam in my 235"stock block motor and that works well too so I wouldn't hesitate to try it in a small displacement application. Heck there are guys running cams with over 235 degrees duration in TSM.

I'm very happy with my 224/224. Make sure your motor is ready for ~6300 (or more) rpm shifts to get the most out of it.

Lots of good ;) replies.

I usually go small with cams just to be on the safe side.

But in this case , the cam is slightly used, so probably wont sell for much & everything needed to run it was included.
Alum heads already have correct springs, ti retainers, correct length pushrods, 1.65 rockers , timing set etc

So am tempted to run this setup.

I have not experienced a turbo car with too much cam, How may this combo act.
Rough idle, lack of botton end , require very high idle ?

On our engines what is required for above 6000prm operation to take advantage of this cam ?

Botton end is stock w. 2 billet center caps.
Valve train will be rollmaster chain, alum heads w roller rockers.

I usually limit my Ttype to 55-5600 rpm to be safe so this may be new territory.

The parts deal also came w. a new comp cams 212/212 flat tappet kit, so that will be the 2nd choice. The roller has the cool factor tempting me though.

I wouldnt run that cam unless you are planning on running a bigger Q-trim turbo at 28-30 psi (like a 76 minimum) and ported heads. I wouldnt run less than 9.5-1 compression with it either. You would be much better off with something around 214/214 and maybe a little more if you had your heads ported imo.

If the setup is selling for cheap then get it. You can have that cam reground by CAM MOTION for about $150 to what ever specs you want. Just my opinion. jeremy

I would be interested in buying that setup if you re selling, let me know. where is Cam Motion located or their website?

Cam Motion is in Baton Rouge Louisiana. http://www.cammotion.com/

They do excellent work on alot of really fast cars. My cam was a 236/236 with .590 lift (out of conley's BLACK) and i had them cut it down to a 224/224 w/.560 lift. solid roller. hope this helps, jeremy

Maybe you should stop wasting your time on import junk and get working on a T-Type that is under 7 feet of snow.......:D
