I have an ATR down pipe and the puck does not line up center with the wastegate hole, however it does cover it but on on end there's about a 1/4"that is not covering the hole and on the other end only 1/16"-1/8" that does.Any ideas......Thanks.

I know a guy that fixes them. I will ask if he is interested in the job and let you know!

Thanks for the replys!!!The turbo is a ta-61 from limited with a precision housing,I ordered a THDP but instead I was shipped an ATR down pipe. Both parts was ordered new.

I went and reread my post, it should have said that most likely the wastegate hole in the turbo is ported too large, causing the puck not to alighn perfectly.

If its a ATR downpipe, the swing arm puck will measure 1.50 inches in diameter, and if its a THDP i believe those are 1.25 inches in diameter.

If the pipe swing arm works fine, then the hole wasnt drilled correctly in the hole, someone ported it or something.

So, thats the problem right, the hole is in the wrong spot?

PS, ATR has been out of business for awhile.

How did you get it new?

You probably didnt buy the downpipe from John Craig that sold you the turbo did ya?

Where did you get the downpipe?

BW

LOL-
Thats who i purchased my ATR downpipe and took DAWN??? about 2-3 months to get it right before ATR closed the doors. I recieved mine right before BG the year that they closed.

Now you have me wondering if my pipe is made wrong too.....

What diameter is the hole in the turbo exhaust housing?

BW

I think that the hole measures 1" diameter, like I stated earlier one side covers the hole about 1/16-1/18" and the other side has 1/4 or more space that is not being used.

Since your downpipe puck will not cover the wastegate hole properly for correct spoolup, the plate gives you a new surface to properly set the hole where you need it.

Just invision a 1/8th piece of ss metal, sandwiched in between the turbo and downpipe.

Jason doesnt drill the 3/4 inch wastegate hole in the plate, which allows you to get the puck alighned with the new hole you will be cutting into the 1/8th inch plate.

rjc probably has a solution for that too. And I keep hearing this 'so and so's been out of business for a while now, how did you get it?" Lol. They havent made many MANY TR parts for a while now. I wonder how come you keep finding them new in box then... Hmmmm thats odd. It dont matter how long atr's been out of business. they made more than 5 parts men.

After being on the PHONE with terrance today for about 30-40 minutes we discussed how he recieved the same ATR downpipe i recieved right before ATR closed their door,. plus alot of other stuff getting his car going, he is a great guy!

Not only did he recieve a actual ATR downpipe and I still have my original NEW ATR DOWNPIPE AND NEW TURBO sitting here on a shelf that i use to varify multiple issues, and the fact that NEITHER of my parts line up like they ought to.
I need the 1/4 plate like i listed long ago, i knew it awhile back.

So what is your contribution to this thread:confused:

Just wondering cause i was trying to help him out and he called Jason for the plate and controller???

my contribution was A. rjc may have a fix for the wastegate puck. and B., about atr goin out business, and people cant figure out how you can still buy their parts? My nos gm parts example was an example, to not give up hope on older parts. theyre still out there. just cuz a business went out, doesnt mean you cant find their parts.

A. i got him squared away
B. :) Parts new was the point, and he got it figured out cause i knew what was going on. We finished it on a PHONE conversation, sorry yall were left out.

Its all good, i should have replied sooner that things were squared away earlier this afternoon.

Good morning guys,I just got a chance to read your feedback. Now my 2 cents....I have been working on T/R for a long time now and I never had a problem like the one that I am having now.People have their on opinions about vendors and parts but whenever I ordered parts in the past from Red,Jack or Conley's they were right and I never had problems like now.

To answer your original question we can fix it. Some of our pipes come in damaged due to shipping companies & have to be repaired. We already have the jig made up.
