Does the art carr deep trans pan take a different filter and gasket than stock? Any heads up on how much fluid it will take to fill it?;)

Use a 700r4 filter,it feeds from the bottom and it usually adds about 2 quarts or so extra fluid.

trans pan

hi, been a long time. but i had that art carr deep pan. and used the 700 filter. if not mistaken??? the o ring that it comes with. is not usedI MAY BE MIXED UP ON THIS. so anyone??? FRANK.

I Was Told The Things In The Bottom Of The Pan Need To Be Ground Down Because They Are Either Too Long Or Either In The Wrong Spot? But Either Way They Supposedly **** The Filter And Let It Suck Air.i Was Also Told To Double Up On The O Rings On The Filter Also Use The 700 Filter Like The Other Guys Mentioned.

If I Am Wrong Somebody Please Chime In And Let Me Know Because I Also Have One Of These Pans

If it's a new pan it will need to have the 4 lugs ground down. If it's used it may have been already done. I used the orange ring that comes on the 700 filter and no problems at all. I have had a guage on it to confirm. Simple mod.

Thanks for the info. It is a used pan (came on the car when I bought it), I'll check to see whether anything is ground down.

I ran this pan on my old car, it worked great.

I used the 700R4 filter with one orange seal. Make sure the old seal comes out with your old filter.

I ground down the front posts half-way, and the rear posts all the way.

(Thanks to DW for the hints on this!)

Hmmm, I checked mine while it was on the engine stand and saw NO (dimensional) reason to remove the stand-offs from the bottom of the pan. So, what's the deal? The measurements indicate plenty of room for everything to co-exist...

I believe the 700R4 filter hangs down lower and at more of an angle....

But I could be wrong......

Stupid question but..

When I talk to the part store for ording this filter, doesn't the 80's S-10's have the 700 in them?

i believe its part number b96 anyone from chicago would have a hard time forgetting that number.
