I guess Id like to know if the cost of the CK shift kit for a stock trans is really worth the extra cost over the Art Carr kit. I see the CK kit is more prefered but curious as to the ease of install and the extra dough. This is for a stock 127.000 mile easy use street driven trans. Thanks for any input as Im still up in the air about either.

Don't waist the $$$ on Art Carr. Ck is much better, carr is old school much better kits available today. I used one in my white t and the shift quality is much better in my othe 2 CK units.

I had an old art carr kit in my old gn which I liked but shifted a little bit too hard under normal driving. The ck kit and servo is great, shifts nice and firm at part throttle and quick and firm at WOT. I would definately buy it again.

The Art Carr kit makes the shifts a little abusive at light throttle. I have used both the Art Carr and CK kits. I would go with the CK kit.

If you go with the art carr kit just dont put in the restrictor in the 1-2 accum and the 1-2 light throttle "bang" that alot folks complain about with his kit will be acceptable/not as harsh.

I have the CK in my present transmission and my spare. Works as advertised. Not harsh while driving normal, but very firm if you get on it.

I have the CK and it feels pretty firm during normal driving and sweet when you get on it.

Its just the price on the Ck I dont like. I plan on having the trans gone throu at some point and the kit might not be in it when the buider is done. Thats the only thing. Its $140 vs $70. Not trying to be cheap but its just a point. Thanks for all the input.

I hate to steal the words of the famous Mike Holmes - but 'Do it right the first time'. I had my trans done completely with hardened parts etc...I didnt wanna spend the extra dough either to get the CK stuff but figured based overall on what the guys on this board said (and I havent been steered wrong yet!) I had to go with the CK stuff even though it was extra dough.

Well worth it and gives you piece of mind when you sliide up beside that Cobra or Vette :D
