At the end of my line...frustrated! blue smoke.....

My car is smoking after a rebuild!
Specs: Rebuilt engine
Rebuilt factory turbo
Factory heads
Background: The engine was rebuilt several years back after a theft. Rebuilt by a trusted mechanic who actually pulled the engine a second time to take back to the machine shop and have them recheck there work all to track down this smoking issue. Machine shop said everything was fine it must be the turbo.

Things I have done to track down the problem:
-installed fel pro intake gaskets(2 years ago) -still smoking
-recently pulled valve covers to check intake gaskets - seated nice and snug still in place
-installed new 1126 PCV -still smoking
-pulled oil line to turbo while idling -still smoking
-unhooked down pipe to check for any oil leaks from turbo while idling 45 minutes -turbo bone dry
-Today installed a oil catch can with inline check valve(I just knew this would solve my issues) -still smoking!!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. What am I overlooking!!

The heads were not touched until I pulled them to install the intake gaskets..

The engine was rebuilt, the heads have been off the motor ....

Now that you asked Brian...I do remember hitting it a few times and the car "choking out" at high boost!

You may have a valve stem seal issue. My new motor smokes just the same yet has great compression. It is possible the seal has come loose. I believe this is my issue as well

I pulled the passenger side earlier today, looks normal no oil on plugs or anything irregular. I will pull the driver side later today.

I just recently pulled the valve covers and they look seated to me but I will check again.

I just pulled the driver side plugs. Same as the passenger side. Everything is good there.

Has engine been run at 190° or better...like phoneguy said...temp, rpm and some boost (and some miles) will help break in.....i use old dino oil during break in....
Oil pressure no too high?

No, I only put seals on the intake valves.

No, shortly after the rebuild the car was parked while I tried to figure out the smoking issue. You may be right G1970. I'm starting to hear a friends voice echo in my head "Just put some tags on it and drive the damn thing!"

Yep, sometimes it takes some driving to seat the rings....keep a eye on the the vitals and put 500 miles at different rpms.....i had to unhook my cooling fan during the very end of the cam break in to get the temp up....helped mine

I could have sworn that only the exhaust valves need seals and not the intake valves.

Guys, I'm telling you, the way my car smoke it seems like there would be something very obvious and would point to itself but I have checked, inspected, and recheck the things it SHOULD be with no luck!

I believe you have that in reverse trixdout. intake-seals, exhaust-no seals for stock heads.
