Average Engine Rebuild Price?

Ok, here's the deal, rear main seal is leaking, motor is questionable as to condition/mileage, so I'm having it rebuilt completely.

What can I expect to pay, on average, for the engine rebuild, minus the rebuild kit (from postons or somewhere else). Of course head-surface, valve job, etc

How much for everything? Just motor, not trans

Are you doing the assembly? If so, I would estimate $2000, including cam balance, new bearings, crank turned, gaskets, hoses and valve job
