Howdy,

I have budgeted about $1300 for a complete transmission for my new turbo 6 powered 67 skylark. I was orginally intending on getting a switch pitch 400 but the lack of overdrive is slightly nagging. Basically can I get a TH200-4R to take a 400-450 rwhp engine for $1300 that I'm not going to have to rebuild for years? The car will be predominately street driven but it will see regular strip duty running 12.0 or slower since I don't have a cage. I want the tranny to take the full beating of the engine should I decide to run it someplace I can afford to be black flagged and go low 11's.

Thanks,

I have one that has 20,000 original miles, i had it rebuilt by my tranny guy and it is fresh.
I also have a stock converter that can go with it but it has clutch material in it and most likely will have to be cut open and cleaned out,and you can have it restalled at the same time if you like.
Let me know if this would interest you.

Thanks,

Mike.

thanks Cheese,

I'm not really in the position to be buying one now anyway but I'm doubting a stock BRF TH200-4R will hold up to my kind of power anyway. I'm mainly wondering if a complete (including TC) can be built for these power levels for $1300?

Thanks,

This tranny would hold up fine past your power level.
Anyway good luck with your search.

dont think youll find one in that price range. when it comes to a 2004r if you think your getting a bargain youll probablly kil it in a year. save a bit more and go with dynotech or someone from the board and youll pretty much be in good shape. ive went through 6 or 7 and then went to dynotech.:D
