I have had a ton of imports and domestics, all modded, and miss them all to some degree, but the one that best balanced, perf, reliability, mpg, and enjoyment to drive was a 203 jetta 1.8t.

anyway, it'd get 30 mpg highway, crank everytime, and embarrassed many V8 "muscle cars" locally (all the bolt ons and 20+ psi street tune), while enjoying audio up to 140 db. It was a little small, but handled unbelievably after completed. I liste it for sale as a "what if" and it sold at asking price in 2 days....should asked more.

Sharp looken car. Was that a Jetta? I had an 03 GTI VR6. Best daily driver I ever owned. Planned on putting a turbo kit on it as a driver. Shoulda, coulda, didn't. Wasted more money on a TR that I sold:mad:

86 Mustang GT. Got it with 10 miles on it(at age 18). Beat the snot out of it for 20 yrs blowing up 1 tranny and 1 rear end. Sold it to a buddy with 215k on it and its still running strong!!!! Never even had the valve covers off.

You might be surprised to find that my other 75 (2+2) is in Albuquerque with my brother in law with his 3 Monza's. I also have a 73 Vega GT that is in almost perfect condition. Never been hit. Original NM car with the typical rust around the windshield and hatchback glass. Getting a hotair drivetrain soon. :D

Surprise to see a Monza even lasted past the mid 80's.

It would be a tossup between my 95 Mustang GT i bought new, and my 87 Toyota MR-2. The GT was the most confortable cruiser, took it up and down the east coast several times with no problems. Went from Atlanta to Raleigh-durham on 1 tank avg'ing 70mph. If it werent for insurance spiking after my accident, i would have kept the car. The MR-2 has 226k on the motor, no ticks, no burning, and beat it mercilessly, and still get 30mpg. Not nearly in the leave of the GT or GN, but you didnt have to slow for turns either.

1966 Chevelle pro street. Owned for almost 20 years, sold in 1995. HOT ROD, Car Craft, Popular Hot Rodding, Super Chevy, Chevy Action, AutoBuff feature car. Instead of buying different cars I just kept changing it. Small block with nitrous, 427 tunnel ram with nitrous, 454 with 6-71 supercharger. Honuras maroon, Spectre red and Ford Grabber Blue paint jobs, numerous wheels and ultimately ending up like seen in this picture. Started off as a 327 2bbl, 3 speed manual Malibu, yellow with black vinyl top.

Have been trying to track down it's whereabouts for a few years now, was somewhere in NY area last I heard.

Best daily driver I ever had was a 1986 Ford Escort GT, car ran forever with minimal parts thrown at it.

That was quite a beautiful ride. And to think you gave it up for a TR... I still like ur GN better tho.

I remember that car. It was the influence for a friend of mine as since before he was old enough to start driving. He went thru at least 5 66's and the last one was Marina Blue but he always ran normally aspirated 327's.

65 Impala ss 396.White with black interior.Great car.Very fun to drive.Traded it on a new 69 malibu 350.Fun factor went down hill from there until i snagged the GN.

1990 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. it was big and fun to drive. It had all these neat buttons and the dash lights were orangish. Drove it for 8 years, sold it with 150,000 on it, only replaced the fuel pump and AC compressor. This was my first "new" car after college although it was a hand me down from my father.

Yeah, 03 1.8turbo, w/ all the bolt ons. mid/high 13 sec 1/4s on 20"s w/ 140 db stereo, tv, heated leather and handled like it was on rails. AND it was my daily.... rain, snow whatever. Not super fast from a stop, but on a roll, it'd get down. 20 psi street trim, 24 #s on 100 octane...
