Best 1/4 mile times with t49 and what were the builds?

TA49 will get you 120+ mph in the quarter on a stock longblock if you run it hard enough. A cam and a little head work make it easier. Your ET will vary based upon launch and your setup but 122mph on a great run will get you into the high 10's.

Paul, Not doubting the 10.96 run at all but are you sure on the 7.96 to net the 10.96 Qt? Seems like it would have to be closer to a 6.96 run in the 1/8 or that car was abnormally fast in the back half of the track.

sorry , just pulling numbers from memory .. yes it was actually 6.936

He was my idol when i had a 49 turbo. Not so much anymore :)

About 12 years ago someone went 10.8x on an unopened engine with one. The buildup was in gsxtra long ago. Not all ta49's are built the same. Some are not capable of extracting the most out of the wheels

I'm assuming your not talking about different housings. What would the difference between those ta49s be? One built by a specific company over another?

There are a lot of differences in them. Ive seen a lot of them with the stock backplate and the t04e60 compressor sitting an eighth of an inch off the backplate. Ive seen some where the diffuser was hacked out and potential reduced. Ive seen late Garrett compressor covers on some and ive seen a bunch of different ex housings.
